LUZERNE COUNTY, DALLAS (WBRE/WYOU) — According to representatives of the Pennsylvania Game Commission, a man is facing upwards of 200 citations for engaging in unlicensed wildlife control activities.
The owner and operator of ACE Bat and Wildlife Control in Shickshinny is 67-year-old Nelson Carter from Shickshinny, according to the authorities.
According to the authorities, the PA Game Commission started looking into Carter after officers started getting a variety of complaints from the public regarding the calibre and lack of services Carter's wildlife removal agency was offering.
In December 2022, according to the investigators, they carried out a search warrant at Carter's place of business, which led to the recovery of close to 500 receipts.
According to the receipts, Carter worked throughout Pennsylvania and New York in 2021 and 2022 to control wildlife that included migrating birds as well as other animals.
According to representatives of the PA Game Commission, Carter formerly did possess a licence as a Nuisance Species Control Operator, allowing him to legally collect, harass, transport, release, or dispatch specified wildlife at any time for someone else.
However, the permission was permanently cancelled in 2011 after he received many citations for breaking the terms of his licence.
Investigators found that Carter, who has received many citations since 2011, continued to run his company handling wildlife reports unlawfully.
For providing wildlife control and removal services without the necessary state and federal permits, Carter now faces more than 200 charges.
The game commission may be reached at 833-PGC-WILD if you have any new information on Carter's unlawful wildlife management operations, according to Lt. Mark Kropa, the Law Enforcement Supervisor for the Northeast Region.
