Hyderabad: On January 4, starting at 10 a.m., the OU Microbiology and Genetics Departments will meet with alumni from their respective departments as part of the Global Alumni Meet at Osmania University (OU), which is scheduled for January 3 and 4.

Following a welcome speech, the head of the microbiology department, Dr. Sandeepta Burgula, will talk about the alumni meet. The department's alumni will then mingle with faculty members and share their thoughts on how to improve the department.

Alumni will also connect with faculty members at the Genetics Department from 10 am to 1 pm.

Prof. Gita Sharma, a founding member of the Microbiology Department faculty and a current genetics department student, will take part in both programmes. She said that the celebrations will honour deserving former students from the departments.

By coincidence, Prof. B.J. Rao, vice chancellor of the University of Hyderabad, is a former pupil of Prof. Sharma and will be the principal guest at the main event at Tagore Auditorium.
