The Legend of Zelda is one of the most influential and significant video games ever created. Since the original Zelda was released on the Nintendo Entertainment System, it has had a significant influence on game designers and players throughout. The same is certainly true with Doom. Similar to how the first-person shooter revolutionised the video game industry when it first appeared. It may seem strange to think of mixing these two games, but the creator @DeTwelveGames did just that with their "The Legend of Doom" mod! Though the mod was released in 2021, @DeTwelveGames stated recently that they could keep looking for ways to enhance the game before moving on to their next endeavour.
Fans may download the mod from this page if they are interested. On Twitter, @DavidBCooper posted a video of the mod in use, which is available in the Tweet that is included below.
I cannot believe it took me this long to find out someone recreated The Legend of Zelda in the Doom engine! I’m gonna play the whole dang thing. pic.twitter.com/bRKHzTKsrC

Watching this mod in action is just fantastic! More effectively than anybody could have ever imagined, the original Zelda game's enemy designs and graphics have been painstakingly reproduced by @DeTwelveGames. If gamers pay great attention, they'll even notice that the DoomSlayer now sports a cap that matches Link's. This mod is far superior than many other Doom modifications that have been made available online since it pays close attention to detail. This is really a wonderful effort, and it's definitely worth checking out for seasoned Zelda lovers!
Since an official Zelda and Doom crossover is probably not going to materialise anytime soon, this unauthorised crossover will have to hold fans over. A Mii Fighter outfit that can be purchased in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the closest thing we've had to DoomSlayer and Link appearing in the same game. Many people believed that DoomSlayer would be included in the fighting game due to Doom's enduring popularity, however it appears that was not the case.
