KLAS LAS VEGAS — The new director of the organisation is a seasoned administrator from the state Department of Wildlife.

According to a press release on Friday, Alan Jenne, who most recently oversaw the agency's habitat section, has been named director by Governor Joe Lombardo.

Lombardo stated, "I look forward to Alan's leadership. Alan is devoted to saving Nevada's wildlife and managing our great public lands.

According to the news announcement, Jenne oversaw all state-wide projects, initiatives, and activities pertaining to wildlife habitat. In addition to working in three of the four animal resource divisions — habitat, fisheries, and game — he has substantial expertise in wildlife conservation, according to the press statement.

A native of Nevada who obtained a bachelor's of science in wildlife biology from the University of Idaho, he began working for the organisation in 1993 in the Overton Wildlife Management Area in Clark County. Jenne worked in a variety of programmes and roles before being named Habitat Division Administrator in 2013. She was a wildlife technician for the Winnemucca water development programme, a fisheries biologist in Winnemucca and Elko, and a supervising habitat biologist in Elko.

Jenne expressed his gratitude to Lombardo for the chance to head the organisation and stated that he is looking forward to using his many years of expertise and wide range of collaborations to advance and preserve Nevada's wildlife and natural areas for next generations.
