According to a statement on the website of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Russia has de facto ceased manufacture of essential components required for the growth of space reconnaissance projects.
The statement claims that this is because there is a severe scarcity of electronic components used in both international and Russian manufacture.
The main components of the projects on the list are spacecraft, whose development has been halted owing to a severe scarcity of electronic components made in both foreign and Russian factories as a result of international sanctions against Russia.
The programmes are being created in the Russian city of Zheleznogorsk, which is part of the Krasnoyarsk region, where the "Information Satellite Systems" military sector company is headquartered. Ukrainian military intelligence claims that Russian scientists are creating tools for performing space reconnaissance at their installations.
According to reports, the space intelligence projects' set timetables for achieving their scientific and research objectives were interrupted and "postponed" for at least a few years.
